We held a very successful Kennel Club Good Citizens test on the first Wednesday in November.
The Bronze standard was gained by Dave and his Working Cocker Barney. Silver cards are proudly held by Kirstie with Mini Schnauzer Merlin, Kay with her French Bulldog Monty and Hazel with Hungarian Vizsla Bence.
Gold was given to Maureen with her Working Cocker Llynos and Alexandra with her Pomeranian Charlie. Very well done to all owners and their dogs, they put a lot of time and effort into their training. A special thank you to Leisl de La Fontaine for judging
The methods we use nowadays are far removed from the outdated way of " Phideaux will do it because I told him! " approach which is now totally unacceptable. Forget the technical jargon, we like to call our method of teaching the love and kindness approach by using treats to reward good behaviour . We think everyone will understand this. So we train gently with a smile.
Prior to registration we encourage prospective clients to come along to observe our sessions with their family and new puppy, vaccinations allowing. Our class intake is on a strictly first come first serve basis, we require full payment at registration to guarantee your place, class numbers are restricted and we advise that to avoid disappointment early registration is essential, perhaps even before you bring your pup home.
May we introduce ourselves. The Puppytime Training Team are a group of dog trainers based in Cheltenham, in the UK. We organise classes to teach people how to train their puppies to behave in a socially acceptable way. Being affiliated to the Kennel Club we provide a platform for the K.C. Puppy Foundation Assessment and in our late classes offer training and support for people who wish to take the Kennel Club Good Citizens Awards up to Gold Level.
